How it works

    Download Smart TV Remote

    Get the app free from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad (iOS 16.0+).

    Join the same Wi-Fi as your TV

    Make sure your phone and your smart TV are on the same home network — that shared connection is how the app reaches the TV.

    Let the app find your TV

    Open Smart TV Remote and it scans the network for compatible TVs. Tap yours in the list to connect.

  4. 4

    Start controlling

    Use the on-screen D-pad, volume, playback, and keyboard just like the physical remote. Your TV reconnects automatically next time.

Requirements

  • • iPhone or iPad running iOS 16.0 or later
  • • A Wi-Fi-connected smart TV (TCL, Roku TV, Google/Android TV, Fire TV, and similar)
  • • Both devices on the same home Wi-Fi network
  • • Smart TV Remote app (free download)

Note: iPhones have no infrared blaster, so TVs that aren't on a network can't be controlled. Compatibility depends on your TV supporting network control.
