Smart TV Remote: Universal Control("the App", "we") is built and maintained by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, why, and how it's handled.

What the App does not do

The App does not require an account, does not have a login, and does not collect your name, email address, or contact information. It communicates directly with your TV over your local Wi-Fi network — the commands you send (volume, channel, navigation, and so on) stay on your network and are not routed through or stored on our servers.

What the App may collect

Per the App Privacy details on the App Store listing, the App may collect the following, none of which is linked to your identity:

• Usage data— aggregate, anonymised information about how the App is used, via Apple's built-in App Store analytics.
• Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data, used only to fix bugs and improve stability.

Local network access

To discover and control your TV, the App needs permission to find and connect to devices on your local network. It uses this access only to locate compatible TVs and send remote-control commands to the one you choose. It does not scan for, catalogue, or transmit information about other devices on your network.

Third-party products

The App controls televisions and streaming platforms made by third parties (such as TCL, Roku, Google, and Amazon). Those products have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data; we don't control and aren't responsible for their practices.

Children's privacy

The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is not directed at children specifically, but it collects no personal information from any user regardless of age, per the data practices described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this same URL.
