The app is not out yet — here is what works today
Smart TV Remote is in review and is expected on the App Store the week of 8 September 2026.
There is no download link yet, and we would rather say so than point you at somebody else's app. Email support@smartvremote.com and we will write to you the day it goes live — nothing else, ever.
In the meantime you are not stuck. Everything below works right now, on the phone you are holding, with no app at all.
Control your TV right now
Use the remote that runs in your browser
No install, no account. Open it on the phone that is already on the same Wi-Fi as the TV and you get the directional pad, volume, and playback controls straight away.

Most TCL sets have a physical control on the underside of the panel or behind the lower-right corner. It handles power, input, and volume — enough to get to the Wi-Fi settings.

A TCL Roku TV can be brought onto a network without its remote — the workaround uses a phone hotspot and takes about five minutes.

The browser remote covers the buttons. The app is for the parts a web page cannot do well: keeping the TV paired so it reconnects on its own, a real keyboard for typing into search boxes, and the controls laid out for one thumb in the dark. The full list is on the features page.
